About Us

YTP is a not-for-profit organisation, established in 2000, and is limited by guarantee, achieving revenue by ensuring the provision of good quality further education and skills programmes.

Initially YTP was set up to liaise with the newly formed Learning and Skills Council on behalf of training providers, charities, and voluntary sector organisations in the South Yorkshire region.

YTP’s role was to liaise with the Learning and Skills Council and other regional network groups as an independent body representing the interests of its members covering a variety of educational, training, and skills issues. YTP is an independent training provider and prime contractor for the ESFA and at this time would subcontract Apprenticeship and Adult Education Budget funding to training providers in South Yorkshire.

We help individual learners and employers to gain access to funding to develop knowledge and skills and gain recognised qualifications.

With the ESFA’s drive to reduce subcontracting by prime contractors, YTP has now stopped subcontracting and now delivers all it funded contracts in-house. We have established and nurtured partnerships within the Yorkshire and Humber region to offer learners and employers a good range of apprenticeships, advanced learner loan programmes, adult education funded and commercially funded qualifications.

YTP has good links with local employers and external agencies such as Jobcentre Plus, community stakeholders, and external agencies such as City & Guilds, NCFE, ProQual and Highfield awarding organisations.

We continue to strengthen our relationships and performance and we aim to add significant value to the work-based and employability learning primarily across Yorkshire and the Humber.
